Our story

120 years of wood, 50 metres of beach.

Gili Teak started as a single cottage on a quiet stretch of the sunset side. It's now twelve [Owner — confirm count], but we've kept the rhythm of one cottage at a time.

The wood is the thing people notice first. Each cottage was built from teak reclaimed from Javanese houses that stood for over a century. Reclaimed teak is denser, darker, more knotted than new lumber — it remembers older weather.

We chose the sunset side of the island deliberately. It's quieter. No nightclubs. No traffic noise (there's no traffic at all). The sound profile is wind, water, and someone tuning a guitar at the bar in the afternoon.

What we care about

Three quiet principles.

Small on purpose

We could fit more cottages on this plot. We chose not to. Crowded resorts are no resort at all.

Local-first

The team is mostly from Lombok. Fish from the local fishermen. Vegetables from the next island. It's better food and fairer too.

Quiet luxury

Rain showers. Real linens. Strong wifi. Good coffee. None of the things that scream — all of the things that matter when you stay.

See for yourself.
